El Cedro was captivating, a perfect place to be surprised by magic. It was wonderful to be able to walk amongst the greenery of the laurisilva that is so characteristic of this forest and to smell the clean air of the island.
Situated in the north-east of La Gomera, its climate is very different to that of the rest of the island because of the humidity generated by the trade winds. We had our picnic in any idyllic setting, surrounded by nature, at a charming shrine built in 1935 and next to a little stream. It was lovely to disconnect for a while in the island's lush forest with just the sound of the birds.
